I can't put a name to your face I know I've met you twice before but you can't have been that interesting so I'll just be like "alright mate? what's been happening?" this is my last fucking day I've been reading 'bout conspiracies it's an echo box but some stands up to scrutiny like private banks creating our currency as debt and debt equals slavery a business cycle made with intent a mass transfer of wealth to the top one percent and it's our own compliance that keeps us enslaved just a little defiance would sure make a change if we all stand together they can't make us pay stand with me I'm ready to say this is my last fucking day stop stop stop, just stop. 'cause here's what pisses me off I work in an office four days a week and some people have the cheek to say that because it's four and not five I'm not doing my bit for being alive I'm not pulling my weight they come straight out and say it they say that "I don't live in the real world" now this winds me up I mean fuck did they actually just use that term let's inspect it and see what we learn "the real world" they must hypothesise is at the end of a phone or can be seen through a screen of a certain size where we deal with clients and all their moans where we total columns and read from rows I mean seriously my good fellows equals sum open brackets fuck off or at least wake up start looking around start questioning stuff you're young, you're beautiful, you're physically able you're occasionally happy and borderline stable and you're selling it all and for what? ah half decent flat, two weeks somewhere hot? just stop just stop and think about this one we are the great great grandchildren of the industrial revolution we have masterful solutions for all means of production so much so we can't keep up with consumption we're in a world where abundance and poverty live side by side because our god is money and by his rules we must abide now whether you think you were put here by some deity or a fluke clumping of matter the way I see it is existence is bloody spectacular to waste it on the mundane is inane and excuse my vernacular but cunt. your boss is a cunt, his boss is a cunt it's cunts all the way up have you seen donald trump? the real world isn't a place where you're employed it's in here and it's being enjoyed it's out there and it's being destroyed it's your love, your laughs and it's when you're annoyed about real things a throbbing erection over a cashflow projection or years of tension for a half decent pension aren't going to bring you the things that you want take time, breathe, read philosophy don't wait 'til you're sixty-five to be free come with me, be free don't delay, don't pay, just say. this is my last fucking day,

There’s a bird on a branch, a man on a wire there’s a reoccurring chance the whole world could expire and there’s a girl with a suitcase and her head in the clouds and when she looks at that bird she thinks what’s keeping him down You know if I had those wings I’d be flying all day and what use is this suitcase if I can’t get away and then she looks in the mirror and says “my god that’s me it’s time that I was Free” That man on the wire he is skilled and he is brave he knows the critical cost of a minute mistake he goes forwards and backwards but not side to side and in that single dimension he is so alive and he takes that perspective through his whole enlightened day he is free and he is saved That bird on the branch is looking down at the girl and from his high up position he is king of the world but on dark winters night when it’s cold in his tree he doesn’t look through her window and say I wish that was me he knows that freedom's not real it’s just a way to feel maturity’s for cheese, and life’s a ferris wheel so to answer the question that is poised on her lips he’s happy where he is

the gambler 03:54
I've been a gambler most of my life but I'm not bust yet and if I double up four or five times I'll be set it's time that I made a statement, I'm short stacked but not phased. and I'm big blind and impatient , so I'll raise raise, raise, raise. so turn it over let's see the number and the colour and the shape I need hearts It came in. how's my luck? played for. and got. now it's all on the river, I'll walk on the water I'm all in it's sink... or swim. then you told me to roll up my sleeve, I'm not cheating I swear the cards are just falling for me.. tonight tonight's my night

my best friend don't come out no more he's got a wife, a job and a sprog now he's fucking boring and I can't count the times he's let me down something just came up buts next time surely I won't be surprised or disappointed here's that bit at the end of a dream when you're losing it don't let go of it it's the key to the whole thing there was something 'bout a swimming pool or a hospital ir was it my primary school oh fuck it, it's gone so draw down the curtain 'cause I'm almost certain it's the end gather your coat and your friends and head for the door strangers acquaintances, new friends and enemies a toast, before you go raise your glass, raise your spirits, let's hear it one more for the road I only have two different moods isolated and intoxicated I know which I prefer and I came here to lighten your booze have a scotch or two and a peak at you so draw down the curtain 'cause I'm almost certain it's the end gather your coat and your friends and head for the door strangers acquaintances, new friends and enemies a toast, before you go raise your glass, raise your spirits, let's hear it one more for the road

About "etched in rust"

Release date: September 9th 2016

Recorded at Toe Rag Studios, Lonodn
Sound Engineer: Luke Oldfield

Recording with Luke at Toe Rag studios was an absolute privilage, working on 8 track tape has some interesting challenges and it's really just about capturing a moment. The studio won a grammy in 2004 when The White Stripes made "Elephant" there. It's a pretty special place for a brand new band to play with their first EP.
